Sizing Information
Generally speaking, Olympia gear will work best on those with larger builds and/or people who like their clothing to fit more casually. In contrast, our European brands fit more snug and trim (REVIT, Alpinestars are examples). We tried a size Medium jacket on Huey and an XL on Dewey (our Fit Check mannequins) and they fit just fine. You can see some shots of how they look by clicking the “View Larger Images” link above.
Olympia’s standard size chart reflects the generous sizing for jackets on the larger end of the spectrum, but we think it understates the size of the smaller jackets. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you find yourself between sizes in the chart, I’d advise going with the small due to the generally generous cut of the jacket.
Jacket Size | Max Chest | Max Belly |
---|---|---|
Small | 40 | 38 |
Medium | 43 | 41 |
Large | 45 | 43 |
XL | 48 | 46 |
XXL | 51 | 49 |
XXXL | 54 | 51 |
XXXXL | 58 | 56 |

Our Two Cents
Street riders, commuters and especially long distance travelers will really like this Olympia style. The mostly-mesh shell along with the two stage removable liners makes this style an effective four season design. Those on the road will also appreciate the longer torso length and extra storage pockets.
We sell a LOT of mesh styles, but not very many of them are in a longer 3/4 length style like this Alpha Mesh Tech Jacket by Olympia. The longer length gives a bit more coverage on the front torso and also allows for extra storage. I count six generously sized pockets in front, one inside breast pocket and finally a cell phone pocket inside the jacket. If you are using the removable waterproof liner, there is also a mobile device pocket inside it so it will stay dry. To make the Alpha Mesh even a more unique creature, it has a removable two stage liner which is styled to be worn off the bike as a casual/waterproof jacket… with or without the thermal liner. That combination of features makes this jacket absolutely one of a kind!
The overall construction of the outer shell feels sturdy and well made, and as I mentioned above, the removable liner, being suitable for casual use is tailored well beyond the usual removable liner. Like most other longer jacket styles, this one has side waist adjustment straps to get the fit right for your torso size. And the sleeves are adjustable with Velcro straps as well at the crook of the elbow. You’ll be able to adjust the sleeve to hold the elbow armor in position in case of a fall.
I’d encourage you to look at our photo gallery to get the idea on the usefulness of the two removable liners. Being able to use the rain liner as a casual jacket will really be helpful to those who are traveling long distances because you can cut down on the list of items you need to pack in addition to your protective gear. And being able to use the thermal liner with that casual rain liner makes the jacket useful for lots of weather conditions. The mostly-mesh shell, used by itself will be comfortable in very warm temps, and then using one or both other liners will cover the rest of the year’s riding conditions.
I give this jacket high marks for versatility when on the road and also for all weather usefulness. Its a really nice style. :: Paul, 10-24-17
