Icon Hooligan Ultrabolt Jacket

We tried the size Medium in this jacket on Huey and we put an XL jacket on Dewey. These are the sizes they normally wear and both fit great. My advice would be to wear the size you normally wear in men’s clothing.

If you look at Icon’s chest size estimates for each jacket, you might be choosing a size larger than you normally wear (example a person with a 46 chest typically is an XL, but using Icon’s chart you’d buy an XXL). If you use our estimates of max chest, you’ll probably be choosing the size you normally wear.

Contrary to Icon’s marketing info which says this jacket has an “Icon Sport Fit”, which implies a snug torso and a large taper from chest to waist, I find this jacket to be pretty “relaxed” and therefore belly size won’t be a problem for most. But if you have a bit of a belly, you’ll want to get a measurement and make sure to choose a jacket large enough to work.

The Icon Hooligan Ultrabolt Jacket offers sharp sport styling in a light weight textile jacket with plenty of mesh for high air flow. Armor is included for shoulders, elbows and the back.

I listed this model in both our Textile Jacket department and our Mesh Jacket department. It’s not a full mesh design but the forward facing surfaces of the arms are full mesh and most of the torso is made with perforated textile material, so this jacket will work best for mild to hot temps. In cold weather, you’ll be chilly though.

With this jacket you’ll get Icon’s full set of D3O armor including a back protector. The armor is well regarded for its ability to absorb energy upon impact and it is quite flexible and very comfortable to wear.

The styling on these jackets is the main attraction and they look nice. The laser cut holes in the textile are very sharp and unusual. Be advised, the cut of these jackets is quite relaxed, which is very much opposite of what you find in European brands such as REVIT or Dainese which fit trim, so make sure that’s your preference before choosing ICON.
