Sizing Information
Most Dainese gloves we’ve carried run snug like other European brands, but this particular style seems to run “normally” like other US brands. So choose the size you normally wear.
Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
This glove is offered in sizes down to XXXS for women and youth wear.
Our Two Cents
The Scout 2 Gore-Tex gloves offer comfort in colder and wetter weather and with substantial protections for motorcycling.
This glove offers genuine Gore-Tex as the waterproofing material, so you know it will be great at keeping water out, but allowing your hands to breathe. Most of the shell of this glove is textile on the back of the hand and will repel water to some extent, but that GoreTex liner will keep water from penetrating on though. The palm side of the glove is a base of man-made suede with leather reinforcements in the palm, the finger tips and on the side of the pinkie.
The palm of the glove has a fantastic hard plastic “slider” which give good abrasion protection if you fall. If you go down, you’ll likely put your hands out palm first and when those gloves hit the ground, they’ll hopefully slide rather than grab and twist. These gloves also have a nice firm molded protector over the knuckles. And there are even little protector pieces over most finger joint knuckles. You can see where those are located because there are little loops printed on the fabric where those are located. So the overall protection package here is quite good. Protection features like this are what you see in more sport/race oriented gloves.
The glove secures on your wrist with a Velcro closure and the long gauntlet adjusts with a wider Velcro strap. You can adjust the gauntlet for wearing over or under a cuff. The insulation in the glove extends all the way to the end of the gauntlet so they should be pretty good at keeping you warm.
Other little nice features… night time reflectives, conductive pads on the thumb and forefinger and a shield wiper on the left thumb.
Overall, nice gloves and at under $200 they are a pretty good value proposition I think. :: Paul, 08-28-18
