These pants are constructed well and are very functional. They aren't as cool as I expected, but for the level of protection they provide they are a good compromise. Maybe just a bit warmer than plain jeans, but cooler than Kevlar jeans in my opinion. Pros: Cool enough to wear when it's hot Protective (Balistic nylon with knee and hip armor) Cons: No heat shield on inside of leg (beware of melting) No mesh in the armor areas, so those are hot spots. I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend.
