For back roads and touring I wear a full size adventure boot. When it comes to commuting or any event where there is a lot of walking, these boots come in handy. I wore them at the AMA Pro races at Road America and they were very comfortable on the bike and walking around. They are much more subtle looking than other shoes so I wear them at school as well. I've been caught in the rain a handful of times already and my feet never gets wet. My only complaint is they don't slip on and off that quickly but that goes to show it has some good ankle protection.
