Kudos to Aaron. We spent quite a bit of time chatting about the gear I was considering and I finally pulled the trigger on the Joe Rocket Atomic 5.0 I'm 6'2", 175#, tall and lanky with a 32" waist and 41-42" chest. Aaron and I agreed per the size chart and I bought the size medium/tall. Couldn't be more perfect! Long sleeves finally! The torso, if you can see the pic, added length to almost a 3/4 style jacket and I love that. The jacket fits snug with the liner in but I like it. The arms are not baggy. No air gap in the chest, so cold air can't get in. If you have big muscles this would be very tight on your arms, at least with the liner in. This may just replace my first gen Kilimanjaro! And yet provide enough venting for the summer. Time will tell on that last part but I have numerous mesh jackets and spare armor. Shipped in a box that fit the jacket slightly folded over. No popcorn or bubble wrap! Thank God! Check in the left warmer pocket and the jacket cones with two snap replacements! Also came with a nice hanger. Snaps are positive. Zippers feel strong and the whole jacket just seems VERY durable. Collar neck snap is snug but not uncomfortable and will probably stretch a bit during break in. Liner feels very plush and warm and has a zip from one end to the other around the top. Nice, instead of two flimsy zippers attaching from both sides like a vest. When you zip open the cuff you notice the quilted liner is split like the jacket sleeve. This allows for cinching or leaving it loose and will not bunch up inside the cuff. Nice! The connecting snap for the liner is inside enough to allow gauntlet insertion between the jacket and liner. Again - Nice! Really not much to nitpick on this jacket. I decided on this over the Fieldsheer Sugo because I prefer a closed collar as I ride mostly highway. It keeps out bugs, road dirt, etc... It was a close call between those two jackets and I actually think the Sugo will go further into the hotter temps because it sheds a lot of weight and has larger vents, but again, I chose this because of the collar design. The armor is in exactly the right places. You know this when you flex your elbows. The back protector is all you need. Going for CE armor in the back is unnecessary IMHO because it really doesn't add that much more protection. Most riders I know that have accidents don't slide on their backs, although I was hit from behind once at a dead stop, but my foam pad was like this one and believe me, it worked fine. This back pad is actually comfortable. Knox or any stiffer and you feel it stab you in the back if you ride with even a slight forward lean. Happy to answer any questions about this jacket, or even the Scorpion helmet. I didn't review the helmet as I already have two other. I have an old EXO 700, and I bought the R410 Split, which is also a nice helmet. I like Scorpion helmets. They fit me well. Keeping the EXO 700, but probably tossing out the R410 once this one gets here (not here yet, probably tomorrow). At $99 for this many features is a no-brainer. Same helmet as the T510 really at half the price. Again, could not be happier with the excellent customer service using the chat function. Thanks Aaron!
