Here's a pic of my purchased back pad with the back pad that came with my size large Andes Drystar jacket. It moves around a little bit in the pocket but it's not noticeable when riding. It's definitely more substantial but weighs more also. Overall a worthwhile trade off. The chest pads are the same exact size as those that came with the jacket and are as comfortable as the stock items. Overall I feel safer having both of these in.
