I got this to replace a EXO1000 helmet that was getting painful on long rides. The 500 feels a little roomier on the inside (no more hotspot on my forehead after an hour ) and looks bigger on the outside. The fit and finish is really good for what this lid costs. The lining is very comfortable and feels finer and smoother than my HJC IS-16. While the internal visor is not the darkest out there it isn't bad and augments a pair of sunglasses nicely when diving into a setting or rising sun. The easy on/off visor is very handy and makes it much easier to quickly rinse off bug guts on the road. The vents do OK, I can tell whether or not they are open. All in all a very nice helmet. If this one gets damaged I would definitely buy another to replace it.
