I am extremely happy with the TCX X-Five boots that were delivered to me today. I ordered them in size 42, and they fit perfectly for someone who usually wears a 9; not loose, not glove snug, and with no pressure points. I can still wiggle my toes. As a point of reference, Converse Chuck Taylor high tops size eight fit my feet like a glove. My previous boot were Tourmasters Response SC in size 9. I remember the Tourmasters taking a while to soften up, but the X-Fives are already getting easier to wear after a few hours. Like the Response SC's, they can be polished, so they can still look nice after months of daily wear. They have hard soles, but are comfortable enough to walk in. It rained a bit today, and my feet stayed dry. They are super easy to put on and take off; they require a lot less pulling than my Response SCs did, and I won't miss the laces. They appear well-made; I see double stitching where all of the outside panels meet with the exception of the zipper. The inside ankle protectors seems a bit further back than they should be, but otherwise I don't have anything remotely negative to say about the X-Fives.
