I purchased the Cortech CPX Water Resistant Textile Cargo Pants to wear when commuting to work. They offer more protection and blend in better than jeans. A few notes - they run about two inches longer than the stated inseam, are significantly heavier than denim, and do not breathe well in hot weather. The zippers take some getting used to, as they, depending on your height and the specific riding position of your bike, come between your knees and thighs and the tank. They feel high quality, and I will probably get years of use out of them. I imagine the heavier weight will allow me to extend my riding to lower temperatures than with denim.
