I ordered this for my dad to replace an old candy red helmet with a snap on bubble that he could no longer see through. This will be a huge upgrade. After a recent ride I could tell it was a quality helmet. I could open the vents with gloves, I couldn't feel the air moving in the helmet but I never got hot so they must have been working. The padding inside is a little firm but I expect it to soften up a bit after some use. I ordered a medium to replace a medium but this one fits quite a bit tighter. If you're unsure or between sizes I would suggest going up a size.
