Our Two Cents
The Paramount GTX One Piece Suit from REV’IT! is an adventure touring motorcycle suite that is designed to keep you comfortable and protected in any season or riding condition. Overall construction is a combination of a 3 layer, waterproof, nylon 200D GORE-TEX fabric, a 3 layer, waterproof, nylon 400D GORE-TEX fabric, neoprene, PWR Shell 500D stretch, sure grip fabric, as well as a TIZIP® MasterSeal Main Zipper. Impact protection is provided by the included SEEFLEX CE-level 2 elbow, shoulder and knee protectors, the included SEESMART CE-level 1 Hip Protectors, as well as the included SEESOFT AIR CE-level 2 on back protector. This combination of materials and impact protection yields a CE Level AA rating overall. Overall fit of the Paramount GTX One Piece Suit is considered a regular fit and in taking a look at sizing, REV’IT!’s sizing seems to be accurate as I fit in to my usual size XL.
REV’IT! Considers this suit to be all season, so to meet those requirements you need to have adjustability for different weather conditions, as a whole this suit is waterproof with the use of the different 3L GORE-TEX fabrics, has a detachable storm collar, and offers plenty of ventilation with the utilization of Aquadefence panels on the upper front and upper legs (this system allows for really good ventilation while open while retaining the ability to be windproof and waterproof when closed, its a really cool and effective system), an air outlet on the upper back, air zippers on the upper arms, and VCS|Panels with FidLock® magnetic fasteners on the upper legs (another great closure system that utilizes magnets to ensure great ventilation as well as a great seal when needed). Honestly this suit has some of the most advanced, and just cool closure systems allowing you to get the best of both worlds with air and waterproof seals that still allow in maximum air when needed.
Moving on to adjustability, there are a ton of adjustability features, for example the shoulder, elbow and hip protectors are all adjustable. For fit adjustment you also get a strap at the calves and lower arms, a tab at the ankles as well as a double adjustment strap at the waist. Other features to note are the expansion pleats at the back of the armholes, an external hang loop, a protective cover at the front zipper, a soft edge collar, additional stretch at the back, as well as vest connectors for the NEON vest that greatly aids with low light visibility. Additional safety and convenience features include laminated reflection at the calves, upper arms as well as a laminated reflective logo on the back and the use of sure grip fabric/leather to ensure you have grip in all the right places such as the seat.
Let’s move on to pockets and accessibility, you get a sleeve pocket, a waterproof inner pocket, and a waterproof stash pocket on the upper leg. As for accessibility, the main zipper, which again is super cool and functional, runs the entire length of the suit and makes getting in and out much easier, additionally the zippers on the legs help even further. I have put on suits of different kinds before and they are not always the easiest things to get in to, I believe the way REV’IT! Set the Paramount GTX suit up it’s about as easy as a suit of this size, style and protection level could be.
At $1,499.99 at the time of this review the Paramount GTX One Piece Suit from REV’IT! is quite an investment, but honestly looking at the materials used, the quality of the features, included armor and other protection features it is priced accurately, plus remember it is a suit, so you are basically buying a jacket and pants together. Overall I am very impressed with the majority of the design decisions that REV’IT! Made when making this suit as they all seem clearly thought out and designed to make sense while facing different weather while riding. This suit will easily have you covered in all sorts of riding conditions and won’t hold you back from any adventures. Definitely worth checking out if you are a serious adventure rider. :: Damir 8/15/24
