Sizing Information

Visit our Sidi Sizing Information page for complete size conversion info (ladies can use the chart at the bottom of the page). Sidi boots typically fit very consistently from one model to the next and this boot is no exception. We feel the size chart represents the fit very well. Width is “normal”, which is C or D in US shoe sizes.

Our Two Cents

The ARX WP shoes from Sidi are a casually styled motorcycle riding shoe that is the waterproof version of their ARX Air shoes. Overall construction is a combination of canvas and suede microfiber in the upper section, a WP membrane on the interior and a Vibram rubber sole. Protection wise you get some D30 in the ankle area (more on that later), heel and toe reinforcements, and reflective laces + reflective heel inserts to help with night time visibility. Overall these shoes are CE 1 1 1 1 rated.

Other features include a gear shift protector, a full laces enclosure with a webbing lace holder to keep your laces secured and in place. Three different color ways are available to help you match your style, while the overall design of the shoe definitely provide a casual, off the bike look. As a whole the ARX WP shoes are comfortable to walk around in and are not as stiff as some motorcycle shoes are, definitely a shoe that you can ride in and then use as a walk around destination shoe for when you get there. Looking at the waterproof properties, yes these shoes are technically waterproof as they have a waterproof membrane, but I think riders have to have a realistic expectation with them as they are not boots, and don’t have any sort of upper closure or lining to keep water from coming in at the top. Also the waterproof liner is designed to only come up about 3/4 of the shoe, so the very top is exposed. What does this mean? Well, it means that if you get caught in the rain or step in to a shallow puddle the shoe will be waterproof and your feet will be dry, but if you get caught in an epic downpour or expect these shoes to perform like adventure boots in the wet, well, then you might be disappointed.

As of this writeup the ARX WP is priced at $199.99 which is fair value for the money, you are definitely getting a shoe with good materials, good looks, and good features, my only real complaint, and this will especially relate to safety conscious folks like myself is the padding around the ankles. Yes, the ankles do have D3O lined in the main canvas and suede to protect the ankles, but honestly it seems a bit small and a bit thin, just doesn’t seem like enough to offer “top notch” ankle protection like Sidi calls it. Yes it will provide some protection but in my opinion Sidi should have gone thicker with the D30, it would not have impacted motion much, but would have done a good deal more for protection. So knowing that, every other aspect of the ARX WP I am happy with, and think its a really good looking shoe. Also this is the waterproof version, if you like the design but don’t need the waterproofing/prefer more breathability, check out the ARX AIR version of this shoe. :: Damir 9/7/24
