Sizing Information
We tried on a selection of Forma boots here in the office and found the length to be about right. The width on the boots is a touch more wide than most other brands we carry. Alpinestars and TCX tend to be the most wide, but these might even be a touch wider. I’d say they are a D to E and might even work for somebody with a slightly wider foot (but don’t get carried away and think they are wide enough for a person needing a EEE or wider). So my advice would be to use the chart below to choose a size based upon your US shoe size.
Forma offers advice on choosing a size from your foot measurement. Here’s how:
1) Measure the overall length of your foot. Forma recommends placing your heel against a wall and measuring from the wall to the end of your longest toe.
2) Add 3/4” to the length of your foot
3) Using Forma’s sizing chart below, choose the smallest size boot with an insole measurement that is at least the length of your foot plus 3/4”.
Use Forma’s size selection method as a “second opinion”. Maybe you’ll find it reassuring if it matches your size choice based on street shoe size or, maybe it could be a tie breaker if you are undecided between two sizes. FWIW, Forma’s advice didn’t work for me since I have relatively short toes. I wear a 45 (known from trying on) and this method put me in a 42.

Our Two Cents
The Forma Air3 boot is a great all-purpose riding boot for mild to hot weather. The boots feature Outdry technology so they’ll breathe well, but keep water out.
The shell is a combination of microfiber (man made leather) and sturdy mesh material. The combination of mesh and microfiber makes for an EXTREMELY light boot as compared with full leather or microfiber boots. I was surprised when I first picked up the box just how light these are! And the mesh material will breathe really well even though the boot has a full waterproof liner.
We carry a couple models by TCX and Sidi that are Gore-Tex which are a little more money than this one such as the Airtech Evo and Aria Gore-Tex, and then we carry one or two that have “generic” waterproofing construction that is less expensive such as the First Gear Kili Hi WP. In my opinion, the OutDry waterproofing is a premium material, but isn’t quite as well known commercially as Gore-Tex and doesn’t add quite as much to the price of a boot as Gore-Tex. The pricing of this boots falls right in the middle of the others, so I think it is priced fairly.
This boot has the usual list of protective features you expect on a good sport/street boot: reinforced toe box and heel counter, protectors built in on either side of the ankle, a shank built into the sole and a reinforcement across the shin. Like most other motorcycle boots, this one closes with a zipper on the inside which is quick and easy, but is also very secure so the boots won’t come off your feet in a fall. The boot’s neck opening at the top adjusts with Velcro so you can adjust the fit for your leg size. I don’t think this boot would work well for folks with large calves, but it would work very well for average to skinny legs. I have larger than average calves and they work, but there isn’t much room left.
Notice the molded rubber protector over the toe and around the sides of the toe. It’s pretty impressive both for looks and durability. Overall, I like this boot for its light weight, good build quality and its premium waterproofing materials. I’ve always been a fan of Forma boots. I think they delivery premium quality for a good price. :: Paul, 11-01-18
