Riding around the city, come rain or shine your pants have a clear purpose – to make every journey as comfortable as possible. To do that across the seasons, they need to be versatile. So, Berlin H2O pants are constructed from a three-layer softshell with both breathable and thermal properties – ideal for multi-season riding. Plus, the long zipper’s easy-entry system means these pants are quick to change into and out of. Zip, zip, done.

Sizing Information
We measured and tried on a selection of these pants and developed the table below to help you choose a size that is right for you. REVIT publishes a sizing chart but strangely they offer hip measurements rather than waist measurements, and in the US, waist measurements are the norm. Please note, the sizes listed in the chart are NOT “vanity” sized like typical jeans sold in the US (meaning jeans that measure out larger than the stated size), so buying based on a jean size maybe result in a REVIT pant choice that is too small. We recommend you either measure your waist or measure pants you already own (use the instructions below for help in measuring).
These pants are available in regular, short and tall inseam sizes, so we’ve included inseam lengths in the chart as well. The pants have adjustability of the armor height (independent of inseam length). Velcro tabs in the armor pockets allows you to set the armor at different heights in the pant leg. You can check how the armor feels on your knee when you are sitting on the bike and decide which position seems best. Neat!
Also, the pants have an adjustable strap arrangement at the waist to help you fine tune the fit. We are showing a three inch range which was about what the adjusters seemed to do.
Pant Size | Waist Estimate | Inseam Reg | Inseam Short | Inseam Tall |
---|---|---|---|---|
Small | 29-31 | 31.5 | - | - |
Med | 31-34 | 32.5 | 31 | 34.5 |
Large | 33-36 | 33 | 31.5 | 35 |
XL | 35-38 | 33.5 | 32 | 35.5 |
XXL | 38-41 | 33.5 | 32 | 35.5 |
XXXL | 41-44 | 34 | 32 | - |
XXXXL | 43-46 | 34 | - | - |
Measurement tips: You’ll want to measure yourself fairly high up the waist because protective style pants like this are cut to ride higher on your waist than a lot of modern jean styles. Just below the navel is about the right height on the waist for measurement.
Our Two Cents
The Berlin H2O pants from REV’IT! are regular fit pair of over pants that are designed for multi-weather city/urban riding and are designed to be worn over a regular pair of jeans or a pair of protective motorcycle jeans. Overall construction is a combination of soft-shell 3L, a Hydratex/mesh G-liner which has both waterproof and thermal properties as well as YKK Aquaguard® easy entrance and YKK Aquaguard® easy entrance, two-way zippers. This construction yields a CE Level A rating. Additional protection comes in the included SEESMART CE-level 1 Knee Protectors (which are adjustable), laminated reflection at the ankles for night time visibility as well as hip insert pockets that will allow you to insert the separately purchased hip armor.
Looking at comfort and convenience, the Berlin H2O pants feature slit pockets at the hip, adjustment tabs at both the ankle and waist, as well as a wind & water catcher being the main entrance zipper. At the time of this review the Berlin H2O pants retail for $269.99, and are overall a solid value considering the waterproofing materials and the fit and finish. Overall comfort is quite good for a waterproof pair of overpants, and unlike some other brands I have tried on, the Berlin didn’t feel bulky or like snow pants. I would say they are worth checking out if you are looking for a pair of waterproof overprints. :: Damir 7/19/24
