New for 2021 is the NORU Taifu
Pant. This is a solid textile pant with an integrated waterproof liner
and a removable thermal liner. This pant will work great in mild to
colder weather and wet weather. The pants include removable knee armor
and hip armor is optional (see the links below to order).
For those that need an affordable pant to wear in the spring, fall
and winter, this pant will do the trick. This is a solid textile pant
made out of durable and abrasion resistant materials. These are made to
be worn over light clothing or underwear. And although they aren’t set
up as an overpant (with long side leg zips), you can probably wear them
over your pants on the way to work, etc, but you might have to take off
your boots to get them off.
The pants have an integrated waterproof liner installed between the
outer shell and the inside mesh lining. The liner is fixed (not
removable) and the pant doesn’t have venting so consider these for mild
to cold weather use. In the summer, they’ll be cookers. For cold
weather, they ought to do well to. They come with a medium-thickness
removable liner that is quilted and lightly insulated.
Molded rubber knee armor units are included. The armor isn’t a
brand name, but it is just like “standard” armor we’ve seen in many
brands over the last several years. It feels good to me and I’m sure it
is functional. NORU gives you pockets for the installation of hip armor too. Just take the link below to order.
Some basic features to note: The pants have stretch material over
the knees and below the waist in back to make them fit better when you
are in the saddle. There are nighttime reflective strips over the knees
in front and around the leg end in back. There is a zipper at the leg
end to help you get your foot through the pants. You get two front
zippered hand pockets in front and the waist is adjustable for fit with
the Velcro strap in front.
The pants have a short rear zipper connection that is compatible with other NORU
jackets. Functionally, this pant is ideal when paired with the Taifu
jacket (link below). With the full outfit, you’ll have a great low-cost
full body suit for commuting or touring riding. :: Paul, 04-05-21
