Sizing Information
The pants are sold in European sizes, so please use the chart below to choose a size based upon your MEASURED waist. As with past models of race/sport pants from Alpinestars, we find the pants to run smaller than indicated by Alpinestars, so for each size, we’ve listed the US waist given by Alpinestars (both tagged in the pant and in their published chart) and also our estimate of actual waist size.
We’ve also indicated an estimate for an approximate inseam of each pant size. In a race pant like this, the pants are designed only to go down to your ankle bone (top of the foot), and so the inseam indicated will be shorter than the inseam you are used to buying in jeans (about 2” actually), so don’t be thrown off. You can either measure your inseam (from the crotch seam on snug jeans to the top of your foot would be a good indication), or to get a good idea, just subtract 2” from the inseam you normally buy in pants.
These pants are offered in tall and short versions as well as the “standard” version. Short versions are about 1/12” shorter than standard and tall versions are about 1 1/2” longer than standard.

Our Two Cents
For 2019 Alpinestars has reworked their lineup of leather sport/race pants. The top end pant is the Track V2. Next in line is the Missle V2 pant in both a solid leather version and a perforated leather version and Finally the Jagg pant which is their more “street” oriented leather sport pant.
The Missile V2 is the second iteration of this pant. The original appeared on our site in 2014. The Missile V2 is offered in two versions to accommodate your climate. The solid leather pant is aimed at those who will be riding in cold, mild and warm areas and the Missile V2 perforated pant called the Missile V2 Airflow is best for riding in mild to hot weather. The main features of both versions are the same (other than perf/non-perf leather being used). To view the other version, use the link at the bottom of this page.
The armor package on this pant is very competent both for the street or even the track. It offers full coverage protection in the knee shin area with a removable knee armor insert plus removable knee sliders on the outside. Hip armor is optional but the pants are set up for the Nucleon KR-H hip armor inserts listed below. The main chassis of this pant is similar to the other Alpinestars sport pants… its a combination of leather and four way stretch material in the crotch, down the inside thighs and behind the calves. The pants are trim cut and the stretch fabric makes them flexible and more comfortable. The top end pant, Track V2 adds an external hard plastic knee armor piece in addition to the armor insert. The armor insert is identical in both pant models. Hip armor is standard in the Track V2. These armor package differences are the main things that make the Track V2 more expensive.
One great feature on the Missile V2 pants is the selection of tall and short inseams. You might think overall inseam on a track pant isn’t critical because the ends of the pant tuck into race boots anyway, but the knee placement has to be right so getting a pant made for your body height is a key thing. If you need a tall or short inseam in your regular pants, you’ll likely need a sport pant with those alternate inseam selections. Talls and shorts are NOT available on the other models for 2019, so if that is a need for you, then look no further. :: Paul, 04-18-19
Alpinestars says: The Alpinestars Missile V2 Pants home in on the features you need to bomb apexes and perform at the track. Premium leather resists abrasion while accordion stretch zones above the knee make it easy to flex your legs. Stretch textile panels on the calf and crotch make it easy to throw a leg over your ride and tuck the pants into your race boots. Zippered vents let you control the amount of air flowing through the pant. A jacket to pant connection zipper connects the pants to an Alpinestars jacket for an alternative to a two-piece suit. CE level 1 knee armor protects your bony bits. Add armor into the hip pockets for supplemental protection.
