REV'IT! Thorium TF Pants
The Thorium TF motorcycle pants are inspired by the sporty tech wear that you see more and more in the urban environment. The style of these pants accentuate the aesthetics of your “dark side” when wearing other items from our DARK Collection. Next to the expressive tapered silhouette, these pants have a high-end look and feel. They are here to make a bold fashion statement and won’t apologize for it.
Pockets:- Five-pocket jeans (two hand pockets, two rear pockets, one small key/change pocket on the right side within the hand pocket)
- One zippered storage pocket on right side thigh that is open to the main hand pocket

This garment uses CORDURA® stretch twill. CORDURA® is used thanks to its enhanced abrasion resistance and toughness over traditional cotton denim fabrics. The stretch twill component gives more freedom of movement and comfort both on and off the bike.
Durability and great abrasion resistance are the defining characteristics of PWR|Shell, thanks to its special ripstop weaving. Thick reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals into the fabric in a crosshatch pattern known as ripstop.
Visibility:- Reflective print at calves
- This garment is certified according to the EN 17092 Standard, published in 2020 and has achieved AA rating.
Please Note: We can ship REV’IT! products to US, US territory or APO/FPO addresses only (per manufacturer’s restrictions).
Sizing Information
We measured a sampling of these jeans of different waist sizes and lengths and find they are much like other jeans you’d buy these days. They are just a bit “vanity” sized in the waist and pretty true in the length. Across the size run, the actual measured waist was about 2” larger than the stated waist size (typical vanity sizing). So my primary advice would be to buy the waist size you normally wear in jeans; you’ll likely find a fit.
If you aren’t sure whether your jeans are vanity sized like I’m describing, then either measure your waist where your normal jeans ride or measure your favorite pair of jeans to verify. You’ll probably find that you measure out a bit bigger than your normal jeans size and also the waist of your favorite jeans measures out an inch or two bigger than their stated size. If so, you will be on track following my advice. The denim used in these pants has just a bit of stretch to them, so if you are sometimes between sizes, you might be able to buy the smaller.
The inseam lengths measured out about right as compared to the stated size. These are tapered fit jeans and REVIT has added a zippered cuff to make it a little easier to get the jeans on. When the zip is closed, the cuff measures about 6 inches across (12 inches diameter) with some minimal stretch.
Our Two Cents
The REV’IT! Thorium TF pants are a new style in REV’IT!’s “Dark Collection” for urban riders that are looking for a higher end look in a textile pant.
Made from a CORDURA® stretch twill with a PWR ripstop in the knees, the REV’IT! Thorium TF pants are CE AA rated. You can read up on armor and garment ratings here but a AA rating on a lightweight textile pant is pretty impressive stuff. AA is the second highest level of protection available.
The interior of the pants has a soft comfort lining material at the knees that feels great while you’re wearing them. I was a little worried about the material causing a heat issue, but it breathes quite well. The armor in the knees and hips is the REV’IT! SEESMART™ armor that is thin and flexible while still offering CE level 1 protection. The knee armor is accessible through the front of the legs via a zipper at the top of the ripstop panel. The pocket holding the armor is within this and the bottom of the pocket has two pockets sewn over each other for about 1 inch of adjustability in the knee armor. If it is too high from the factory you can lower it by pulling the bottom of the armor out of the pocket it is in and putting it into the outer sewn in pocket that opens at the same place. Basically, fold the armor up out of the pocket bottom, push the innermost flap to the back and insert the armor into the outermost flap. The biggest bonus of the outer pocket for armor is that you can commute in the pants and easily remove the armor if you’re in an office or walking around all day, though the SEESMART™ armor is thin and flexible enough that you might not even notice it is there if you leave it in.
The pants have just a little bit of stretch at the waist, but there is no adjustability in the waist. There are loops for a belt so you can use any belt (see related products) for a secure fit. The REV’IT! Safeway belts give you the ability to pair a pant like this one to any REV’IT! jacket that has a short connection zipper as well. The belt is a little stubborn going on the first time because you have to thread it through the first end of the connection pocket, then through the dual belt loops on the rear of the pants in the middle, and then the most stubborn portion is the last half of the connection pocket. But once you get it through there it’s easy to adjust and center the connector as needed. And the dual loops mean the connection will be secure if you take a slide. These pants have a somewhat traditional 5 pocket design with a twist. There is a zippered thigh pocket that opens up the bottom of the right hand pocket so you can access items in there more easily while in the seated position.
The REV’IT! Thorium pants have a tapered fit that almost reminds me of a “in the boot” style off road pant. The cuff is about 6 inches across so about 12 inches in diameter with just a bit of stretch. There is a zipper at the cuff to open them up for easy on/off. The calf has more of the stretch polyester material that stretches even more than cuff. On the back of the calf there is a small reflective strip for nighttime visibility.
REV’IT! has made a sharp looking textile pant that blends CORDURA® and ripstop polyester for very protective riding pant geared towards urban riders. The Thorium TF pants should perform well in most temperatures and conditions and they aren’t overly “motorcycly” looking so you can wear them if you’re a commuter and not have to worry about them looking bulky etc. :: Mike, 05/23/2022
