Sizing Information
These pants are sized consistently a few inches larger than the stated size when the waist adjusters are fully open. When cinched down, the stated size matches the measured size. Most people will be able to order the size they wear in men’s jeans and get a good fit since most jeans these days measure out a bit bigger than the stated size (called vanity sizing).
Below is a chart that shows the waist and inseam for the pants. If you want to measure your waist you can double check your size selection to make sure your measured sizes falls within the waist range.

Our Two Cents
The Moose Expedition pants are a great match with the Expedition jacket. These pants are a bit lighter in construction than the more rugged ADV1 pants by Moose, but they have a similar, full feature set.
These pants are made of a waterproof nylon material and don’t use a separate waterproof lining to make them waterproof. As a consequence, the material is lighter so the entire pants are noticeably lighter to wear. The lower legs are reinforced though. They grey parts are overlays with a heavier nylon material and the insides of each leg are overlayed with leather (also grey).
The pants are equipped with side zipper up to the knee to facilitate getting them on and off even with boots on. They aren’t quite “overpants” with full length side zippers, but they are still quite functional. A lot of people who’d buy these pants will be wearing heavy duty boots, and the bottoms of the legs of these pants are set up to go over even the thickest, heaviest boot. But they also have strips of Velcro so you can decrease the pant leg size for less substantial footwear too.
The pants come equipped with D3O armor for knees and hips so there is nothing else to buy. Both knees and hips are level 1. You’ll really like the D3O armor. It is soft and very flexible and comfortable to use. The armor height is not adjustable in the pant, which is an unfortunate miss for Moose, but the nature of the armor, being very soft and flexible will make it more likely you’ll be OK with the height in the fixed position.
These pants are a bit more vented than most. There are a couple vents in front in the thigh area and also a couple more vents in back for exhaust. And there are some storage pockets too. Two hand warmer pockets and two patch cargo pockets on the front/side. Take a look through our photo spread too see all these.
These pants come with suspenders so you can use those along with any jacket. If you don’t want to use the suspenders they are removable. Suspenders can be a great thing for motorcycle pants. With the armor and heavy materials, motorcycle pants are relatively heavy which means if you don’t have suspenders, you’ll need to have the waist snug for them to stay up. But with suspenders you can wear your waistband a bit looser, and your pants will still stay up!
I think these pants are sharp and have a great feature set. And they aren’t has heavy as some of the most robust styles which will make them comfortable and more easy to use. The venting is good and they have a good pocket layout. :: Paul, 11-21-17
