Sizing Information
These jackets are sold in US men’s sizes. We measured and checked the sizing on a selection of jackets and we find the jackets fit like most people would expect for their size. Our primary advice would be to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing.
To check your size selection by measuring, have a look at the size chart from Moose below. the chart lists the max chest for each size. You can measure your chest and then use the chart to choose a size that will be big enough.
This style of jacket doesn’t taper from chest to waist so the max belly for each size is about the same as the chest for any given size. If you have a big belly, check yourself around the belly to make sure the size you choose will work around the belly as well. It is fine if your waist is smaller because the waist is adjustable with the side straps. The arms are also adjustable to give a good fit.

Our Two Cents
The Moose Expedition jacket is an adventure/off-road inspired design which is a bit lighter duty than their most rugged models. Its a sharp style that is comfortable to use with a very full feature list.
The shell of this jacket is made with waterproof materials which are seam taped to prevent leakage. It does not have a separate waterproof liner or a bonded liner as part of its construction. The material is also noticably lighter in weight than other jacket styles in the off-road/adventure world. But the But the shoulders and elbows are reinforced with more heavy duty materials for crash worthiness. Since the jacket does not have a separate waterproof liner, the zippered venting on the jacket allows air to pass through the shell and directly to your skin, which is a lot more effective than water proof liners that block the flow of air.
The armor in this jacket is CE Level 2 from D3O in the shoulders and Level 1 in the back. We have a lot of experience with D3O and we really like it. We sell tons of it as an aftermarket product. It is a very effective armor and it is super comfortable. The material will absorb impact energy well, but is SO SOFT! No need for any armor upgrades with this jacket.
This jacket has zip vents in the bicep area, the chest and three more exhuast vents in the back, so the air flow through the jacket will be pretty good. No insulated layers are included for winter, but you can easily use your own heavy garments to add warmth… or even a heated vest.
I see a total of five pockets… two hand warmer pockets in front, two inside pockets and one HUGE rear fanny pocket. in front and one huge fanny pack pocket too. The outside pockets have provisions to keep water out and the two inside pockets are inside the shell so those will be the most waterproof of them all and will be the best for your technology.
I see this jacket as a great, lighter weight adventure riding unit, or a good one for everyday street riding too. It has the armor, so it is all set with nothing more to add. :: Paul, 11-21-17
