REV'IT! Control Jacket

The normal formula to convert a European size to a US size is to subtract 10 from the European size to get the approx US chest size, and that works pretty well for this style.

Use the chart I put together below to choose a size that will be big enough for both your chest and belly. The jackets are cut more casually and so the taper from chest to waist isn’t nearly as aggressive as a sport/race jacket, so the belly size won’t be an issue for most, but I put my estimate of max belly in the chart so you can make sure the size you choose based on your chest measurement will be big enough for your belly as well.

The Control Jacket from REV’IT! Is a street-ready sport jacket that uses top-tier materials and is based on the track-ready Control one piece suit. This jacket offers serious protection for the street as it coms in with a CE Level AAA abrasion rating and it combines it with SEEFLEX CE-level 2 Elbow Protectors and SEEFLEX CE-level 2 Shoulder Protectors, and has slots available for REV’IT!’s SEESOFT CE-level 1 Divided Insert Chest Protector and SEESOFT CE-level 2 Insert Back Protector that you can purchase separately. On the shoulders you also have dual comp protectors, and the jacket itself features materials like Monaco performance cowhide, neoprene, perforated Monaco performance cowhide, polyester stretch, and artificial leather as well, all this is put together well with the addition of safety seams. Naturally to aid in night time and low light visibility the Control Jacket also features laminated reflection on the back. This jacket features a tight and snug sport fit that is meant to conform to the riders body shape and is meant to move with the body with minimal restrictions on the riders range of motion. It has a serious sport/racing feel.

From a comfort standpoint the Control jacket from REV’IT! features an adjustment strap at the waist, a mesh liner to help with breathability, and both a comfort collar and comfort cuffs that feature zippers for easy sleeve entry. This jacket also feature many areas that help with stretch, specifically the shoulders, elbows, the waist, inside the arms and the arm holes, the cuff and over the front. To help you connect to your favorite REV’IT! pants this jacket also features jeans loops, and both a short and long connection zipper. For storage the Control jacket has three inner pockets including an inner Napoleon pocket. As mentioned earlier this jacket does feature perforated Monaco leather with perforation at the lower back and front, which helps with the warmer temperatures but it also features a detachable thermal body warmer, and wind catchers behind the cuff zipper and the front zipper to help extend the riding season when it gets colder.

Overall the Control Jacket from REV’IT! falls in to their top tier of jackets when it comes to sports/racing performance and overall protection, sitting just outside REV’IT!S racing suits. In my opinion this is one of the best jackets that you can get for street use from a comfort, quality and protection standpoint. After test fitting this jacket and taking a closer look at it, to me it seems like the natural replacement for REV’IT’s now discontinued APEX jacket which previously sat at the top of REV’IT!’s street jackets. If you are looking for a top tier jacket to wear on your sport bike look no further the Control jacket is a great place to look, it is on the higher end of the cost scale but you do get your moneys worth in the protection and quality level of materials used. :: Damir 3/19/24
