Sizing Information
This jacket is fitting small as compared to many other Alpinestars street jackets. To help you choose a size, I’ve put together a chart below that shows you Alpinestars chest size estimate for each jacket size, and also our estimate of the actual max chest of this jacket. In the very small sizes, the jackets are close to what you might expect but as you go up the size chart they are maybe a half size small in the larger sizes.
The best thing to do to choose a size is to measure your chest and belly and choose a jacket size that will be big enough to accommodate both, and for most, that will put you in a jacket that is about one size bigger than you normally wear.
Note: If you plan to add a back protector, add 1” to your chest and belly measurements before choosing a size. Add another inch if you plan to add chest protectors.

Our Two Cents
The Alpinestars Blacktrack leather jacket is a classically styled leather jacket with some stretch panels at the should to accomodate modern airbag technology if you choose to use one.
The main body of the jacket is a soft leather that is lightweight and thin while still offering good abrasion resistance. The armor is the thin and flexible yet still protective Nucleon Flex Plus at the shoulders and elbows and there are pockets for an optional back protector and chest protectors or you can choose to purchase the Tech-Air® 3 airbag system which works well with this jacket style.
A few notes about the bullet points. Alpinestars says that there are ventilation channels located on the rear area of the biceps, there are not. They also say that the color is perforated, this is partially true. It is perforated on the interior/body side with a very small portion of the middle of the rear outside also being perforated, overall it will not change the airflow around your neck. The cuff zippers do open to a perforated leather panel and you can keep the cuff snapped closed to “scoop” air into the jacket sleeves.
This is a great classically styled leather jacket with a supple feel and tip notch armor in the elbows and shoulders. The large zipper pull and matching shoulder badge keep the look subtle and vintage. You get two zippered front handwarmer pockets and one interior zippered waterproof pocket. The removable vest liner is mesh on the back. There are two snap attachment loops to connect the jacket to your pant belt loops in the lower part of the interior of the jacket as well.
This jacket should perform well in cool to warm weather where you do not need a lot of airflow. It would look at home on most cruisers and cafe bikes if you’re looking for a classic leather look with modern day protection. :: Mike, 03/19/2024
