REV'IT! Esmont Overshirt ~ Sale

The Esmont’s oversized pocket – a design influenced by ‘50s USMC standard shirt archetypes – hits the headlines by drawing the eye while blurring the lines between jacket and overshirt. But it’s the ground-breaking Cordura® stretch twill that steals the show. This newly developed, tactile textile is a 14.2oz. weave blending tradition and technical performance with a natural, wool-like feel.

Protective, inside and out There’s nothing wooly about the protection in this overshirt. On the outside, there’s a Cordura® shell – renowned for its abrasion-resistance – while inside, there’s an insert for optional SEESOFT back protector, and SEESMART CE-level 1 armor at the shoulders and elbows comes as standard.

Under the overshirt While you’re busy taking in the quality of the Esmont’s finish and unconventional styling, you could easily overlook the clever – and cleverly hidden – motorcycle-ready features. Like the connection zipper that allows you to attach this stylish overshirt to your chosen motorcycle pants in seconds when paired with the Safeway connector belt. Or the secure internal pocket: perfectly positioned for easy access.

Sizing Information

We measured and tried on all the sizes in this overshirt and developed the size chart below to help you buy the right size. The overall cut is trim… some call it a “European” cut, which means it is close fitting and will work best for those with a trim build. For most people, we recommend you buy the size you usually wear in men’s clothing. Those with more stout builds will want to try one size larger than you normally wear.

We put a Medium and XL on our two Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey and the fit looks good (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

Sleeve and body lengths are noticeably generous so taller riders will appreciate the extra length. The arms are fairly trim so those with stout builds probably won’t like the overall cut, but taller and leaner cut people probably will love it.

Our Two Cents

The Esmont Overshirt from REV’IT! is a casual, off the bike looking overshirt that is designed to have a vintage look and feel. In many ways, it looks and feels like a non denim version of REV’IT!’s Worker 2 overshirt, which is not a bad thing as the Worker 2 looks good, offers solid protection and is comfortable. Like the Worker 2, primary construction is 14.2oz CORDURA® stretch twill that is accompanied by a polyester ripstop lining. The 14.2oz CORDURA® is capable of earning the Esmont Overshirt a CE Level AA abrasion resistance rating.

Diving deeper in to protection, the Esmont features a pocket for the optional SEESOFT CE-level 2 Insert Back Protector and comes with the included SEESMART CE-level 1 Shoulder and Elbow protectors. The Esmont also features a fluorescent and reflective label at the back to aid in night time visibility.

Looking at comfort and convenience, the Esmont features a hidden snap button at the collar, v-flap at the cuff, as well as a short connection zipper and jeans loop hooks connection option. I also really like that REV’IT! wanted to complete the look and style by having the front closure be button based, but knowing that it wouldn’t be super functional at speed, REV’IT! included a main zipper behind the buttons, thus giving you the full functionality and safety of a strong zipper while still giving you that jean jacket look. Also the buttons, though they go all the way down the front of the jacket, only show externally about half way down with the lower half of buttons covered by the fabric, this is a great feature as it keeps the buttons from scratching your fuel tank if you decide to lean forward. From a pocket perspective, the Esmont features a large stash pocket on the chest as wells as an inner pocket that features a button closure. I do wish the Esmont featured atleast one zipper pocket, but that is just my personal preference.

Overall I think the Esmont Overshirt from REV’IT! is a really cool overshirt as it offers a really good level of protection while looking super casual. Overall it features a regular fit that doesnt taper too much, meaning that if you get the correct size that it should be very comfortable. It would look right at home on a cruiser, in an urban setting or on many vintage bikes. I am a fan, I think REV’IT! executed this overshirt well. :: Damir 5/18/24
