Sizing Information
We measured a selection these jackets and we also put the Medium on Huey and the XL on Dewey and they look good. Please have a look at our photo gallery to see how they look! The fit is about what you’d expect for a semi-casual style like this, so. my primary advice is to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing.
If you know your suit coat size or you have a tape and can measure, please use the size chart below. You’ll want to pick a size that is big enough for both your chest and your belly. This is not a highly tapered style, so most people will find an easy fit even if they have a bit of a belly. Generally speaking, I found the sleeve and torso lengths to be generous.
SIze | Max Chest | Max Belly |
---|---|---|
Small | 40 | 38 |
Medium | 42 | 40 |
Large | 45 | 43 |
XL | 48 | 46 |
XXL | 51 | 49 |
XXXL | 54 | 52 |
XXXXL | 56 | 54 |
XXXXXL | 58 | 56 |
Our Two Cents
The Z1R Gust jacket styling is meant for cruiser riders! This jacket is the MOST basic black full mesh jacket I think we have. The jacket comes with a set of CE rated shoulder and elbow armor and provisions for a back pad.
The shell of this jacket is almost entirely a flow through mesh jacket, so it is made to perform best in hot summer weather. But then there is also a removable waterproof liner you can zip in to extend the useful temp range. Overall, I think this jacket would take you from the hot summer days to the cooler days in spring and fall. You’ll need something else though for the colder days.
As I said the shell of this jacket is made of nylon mesh which is made to abrasion resistant, and the shoulders and elbows are reinforced with a second layer of a heavier duty material too. The jacket comes with a set of standard elbows and shoulder armor inserts (removable if you like). There is also a pocket to add a back pad. I’d recommend the D3O unit listed below. (choose the men’s size in either thickness… I’d recommend the level 1 thickness).
One nice little feature is on the collar. There is a magnet inside the little flap that closes the collar at the base of your neck so there is no exposed snap. I also see a good deal of dark piping on the back of the jacket which is also reflective so you will get some visibility at night. So overall, and nice basic black full-mesh jacket that will please any cruiser rider’s fashion sense! :: Paul, 01-24-18
