Sizing Information
We checked the sizing of this style with our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. They are wearing size Medium and XL jackets respectively. These are their “usual” sizes and they work just fine. We also checked the chest and belly of the other sizes and find them to fit OK too. Therefore, we recommend you choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. if you are between sizes, choosing down is probably the best move.
The overall fit of this jacket is similar to other US brands, which is to say, roomy through the torso with a relaxed fit. The overall height and sleeve length I’d say is “average” and is very similar to Tour Master products. If you are slim and tall, you may not fit a good fit here, but average or stout built people will probably be happy with the overall cut. A longer jacket like this is typically cut “boxy” but they have large side torso adjusters so even if you are slim through the belly you can get a good fit.
You can also choose a size by measuring your chest and belly and using the chart (below) which lists max chest and max belly sizes for each jacket size. The measurements in the chart are a combination of the manufacturer’s size chart and also the measurements we take on the product samples. After you measure, you can choose a jacket size using the chart. You’ll want to choose a size that will accommodate both your chest and belly.
Alpha Size | Max Chest Size | Max Belly |
---|---|---|
XS | 37 | 35 |
Small | 40 | 38 |
Medium | 43 | 41 |
Large | 45 | 43 |
XL | 48 | 46 |

Our Two Cents
The Noru Ganjo Adventure Mesh jacket is the mesh counterpart to the Noru Boken Adventure Waterproof jacket. They share many of the same features and the same basic chassis.
The Ganjo differs most from the Boken because it has several mesh panels on the chest, back, and sleeve that vent directly to the body. For storage this version loses the two chest pockets so that the air has more access across the chest. The lower storage pockets also get smaller and the hand pockets lose the zipper closure in favor of no closure system at all. There is still a large storage pocket on the lower back as well. On the interior we have a napoleon pocket and one pocket on the left side of the jacket near the waist. There are two snap loops again to attach the jacket to the belt loops of your riding pants. One thing of note on the interior is that there are 4 red snap tabs, two at the shoulders and two near the waist (there is also one in each sleeve). These tabs are for the Noru Adventure Jacket Liner (sold separately, see related products below). The Adventure Jacket liner is an easy addition to this jacket to allow for riding in cooler weather. One kind of goofy carry over from the Boken is the waterproof storm flap on the front zipper, no need for this on a mesh jacket but my guess is Noru was saving a few dollar by not reinventing the wheel from waterproof to mesh and they pass those cost savings on to the consumer so no complaints here.
The back of the jacket houses a pocket to store a water bladder (sold separately) BUT while there is a hole for the tube to feed out and over the shoulder, there is no hanger in the pocket so gravity will have the bladder sitting at the bottom of the pouch. They almost had an awesome feature here for a jacket at this price point!
The jacket has the usual safety features, CE level 1 armor at the elbows and shoulders and a foam back pad that can be upgraded (see related products below), and nighttime reflectives at the chest, elbow, across the rear collar base, and near the middle of the back. There are adjustment straps at the waist, forearm, biceps, and cuff and an elasticated section on each side at the hem.
The Noru Ganjo Adventure Mesh Jacket is a good option for the adventure/touring rider who is looking for a mesh jacket with some storage at a great price. :: Mike, 08/11/2022
