REV'IT! Huxley Jacket
Drawing inspiration from the past and making it future friendly is what the Heritage collection is all about. In that collection you’ll find the Huxley jacket. An homage to the past with modern-day materials and safety.
Focused on the detail Upon first glance, the Huxley jacket is “simple” in terms of looks. We’ve done that for a reason. By keeping the design clean, the focal point can be on the iconic D-pocket positioned at chest. That said, supporting the Huxley in its modern-day appeal is the inclusion of a ventilation panel behind front zipper and behind the action pleat at the back panel, along with a CE AAA classification.
Fit to ride Wider in the shoulders and more tapered towards the tummy, the Huxley jacket has a more classic masculine cut to it. And the inclusion of the integrated elastic band at the waist offers a more comfortable fit. Speaking of comfort, the backer against the buffalo leather exterior was added to make sure that even if you’re riding with just a t-shirt underneath, it remains soft against the skin. Furthermore, cooler days are made more bearable thanks to the detachable thermal liner.

Sizing Information
The Huxley jackets are offered in European sizes. The normal formula to convert a European size to a US size is to subtract 10 from the European size to get the approx US chest size, and that works pretty well for this style.
Use the chart I put together below to choose a size that will be big enough for both your chest and belly. The jackets are cut more casually and so the taper from chest to waist isn’t nearly as aggressive as a sport/race jacket, so the belly size won’t be an issue for most, but I put my estimate of max belly in the chart so you can make sure the size you choose based on your chest measurement will be big enough for your belly as well.
Jacket Size | Max Chest | Max Belly/Waist |

Our Two Cents
The Huxley Jacket from REV’IT! is one cool jacket, on one side you have the classic styling of old school motorcycling, simple, minimal and classic leather cruiser style. On the other you have modern materials, safety and function. Simply put, the best of both worlds. Perfect example, is the combination of this jacket’s looks and its CE AAA abrasion rating, in years past this rating was mostly exclusive to racing suits and jackets. Speaking of protection the Huxley also features SEESMART CE-level 1 Shoulder Protectors and SEESMART CE-level 1 Elbow Protectors, Safety seams as well as a pocket on the back that is ready for REV’IT’s SEESOFT CE-level 2 Insert Back Protector. A big contributor to its AAA rating is the buffalo leather construction (buffalo leather is different from cowhide in that it has a more rugged appearance, the finish itself really aids in the classic look and should age quite nicely). To further add to safety, the Huxley features a reflective label at the back to provide additional visibility.
REV’IT! states that the Huxley is a slim fit jacket, but with only a half inch taper from chest to belly and the size 56 (my normal size in REV’IT! jackets) fitting me quite comfortably I would say that the fit is not super slim, almost on the comfortable/regular fit side. If you have ever tried on any of REV’IT!’s sports jackets, the Huxley fits more comfortably than that. Speaking of fit the Huxley also has a great deal of adjustment with adjustment tabs at the collar and multiple adjustments at the waist.
Looking at comfort and convenience, the Hudley has a chest pocket on the front, two slit pockets at the waist and an inner pocket in the thermal liner. Speaking of the thermal liner, it is a full liner with sleaves vs the sometime featured vest like liner. There are also zippers at the cuffs for easy entry, a short connection zipper on the back, jeans loop hooks and expansion pleats at the back armhole that add additional stretch and comfort. Another great comfort features is the secondary zipper in the front that exposes a long ventilation panel behind the main center zipper, this increases airflow and helps extend the jacket’s riding season.
Overall the Huxley jacket from REV’IT! will give you that classic style while providing excellent abrasion protection, modern features and materials and a great deal of adjustability. If you are looking for a classis or cruiser style jacket I do recommend checking it out. :: Damir 4-6-24
