Sizing Information
We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left. Many brands from Europe exhibit a fit like this, such as Alpinestars. If you look at REV’IT!’s published size chart (below), you’ll see their estimate of chest size is at least a full size smaller than what you’d find in equivalent US designed clothing.
We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.
Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style is not a “sport” oriented style so there is not a lot of taper from chest to waist, and with a style like this you can effectively tailor the fit of the waist with the side waist adjusters, which makes the jacket look great and fit great, so don’t worry if your waist/belly is smaller than the max. We only list this for those that have a belly so they can know what minimum size they’d have to choose to fit the belly.
Note: Add about 1” to your chest and belly measurements if you plan to add a back protector. Add an additional 1” inch to your chest if you will add the chest protectors.

Our Two Cents
I really like the sharp colors available in this new Offtrack jacket from REVIT. This jacket is an adventure-styled jacket which can also work for touring or commuting. Its standout feature is excellent venting so you can use it in hot summer weather. You get a full thermal liner and a full waterproof liner too. Armor is included for the shoulders and elbows and armor is available for the chest and back.
Let’s start with venting since that is what really sets this jacket style apart from many of the other styles from REVIT. Both on the front and back, there are pretty large panels of mesh material up by the neck. And just below that in front are two zip-open square panels you can expose for more venting into the jacket. And finally, there are two very long sleeve vents to shoot some air up your arms. That’s a LOT of venting for an adventure-style jacket, so you can use this jacket in very warm temps I think. Granted, the mesh panels up by the neck aren’t close-able, so in cold weather, you won’t be able to block those, so if you are less concerned with hot weather riding and need a jacket that will work in winter temps, then one of the other similar styles from REVIT might be the thing, but if you want the best venting you can get in a style like this, the Offtrack is a good pick.
The dual liner system makes this jacket useful in mild or cooler temps and also for wet weather too. You choose whether to use the thermal liner, or the rainproof liner or both together depending upon the conditions you have at the moment. You can experiment in different temps and conditions and see how each works singularly or in tandem. Once you get some experience with them, you’ll know what works best for you. With this liner setup, this jacket will cover all seasons except the coldest times… I’d say it is about a 3.5 seasons.
Full CE level 2 armor is included with the jacket for the shoulders and elbows, which seems to be REVIT’s standard these days. You can add a back protector and/or chest protectors too. With the back and chest protectors installed, this jacket has the best armor package available from REVIT (aside from race jackets with external armor). Just have a look at the sizing advice below for the back pad and take the links at the bottom of this page to buy.
Check out the Sand/Black colorway… it’s my favorite! It still has the REVIT “look” but feels more contemporary to me. The Silver/Blue jacket is a new graphic mix too and will be more visible than the others. Anyway, there are lots of color choices that are different and sharp.
You can use this jacket with jeans or with the matching pants. Zippers are provided to attach to the REVIT pants, or you can use the short rear zip in back with the Safeway belt along with your jeans for a secure connection (see that option link below). Other nice things here: plenty of nighttime reflectives built into the graphic design on the front, side and back; lots of fit adjustability for the mid-section, arms and neck opening; and you get the REVIT’S really nice collar design with adjustability on the overall tightness and the ability to tack the collar tab back if you want to let in more air. Also, note the big fanny pouch in back to store things. It’s made with a mesh panel to dry out your wet stuff. :: Paul, 02-19-19
Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). For sizes Small or Medium, choose size 4; for Large thru XXL, choose size 5 and for XXXL and larger choose size 6.
REVIT says: When you don’t know where the road will lead you next – paved or not – we make sure you’re prepared for anything. Introducing the Offtrack jacket. It’s a lightweight, well-ventilated garment with plenty of storage space. When the temperature rises, the VCS ventilation panels on the front can be opened to optimize airflow to your upper body. If the temperature drops, the detachable thermal liner can be zipped back in for added warmth. When the weather turns for the worse, the detachable and waterproof hydratex®|Mesh G-liner will keep you dry.
