Olympia Dallas Jacket (SOLD OUT)

Generally speaking, Olympia gear will work best on those with larger builds and/or people who like their clothing to fit more casually. In contrast, our European brands fit more snug and trim (REVIT, Alpinestars are examples). We tried a size Medium jacket on Huey and an XL on Dewey (our Fit Check mannequins) and they fit just fine. Olympia’s standard size chart reflects the generous sizing for jackets on the larger end of the spectrum, but we think it understates the size of the smaller jackets. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you find yourself between sizes in the chart, I’d advise going with the smaller due to the generally generous cut of the jacket. Many people who measure and use the chart will find themselves in a jacket that is one size smaller than they typically wear in men’s clothing.

These jackets have a box cut, meaning the waist does not taper down much at all from the chest size. Most people won’t have an issue with the belly size, but we’ve listed in the chart so you can make sure the size you choose will fit both your chest and belly. These jackets have Velcro straps on the lower torso so you can snug down the fit of the waist by several inches.

The Olympia Dallas jacket is an excellent full mesh jacket for summer street riding. A full set of armor (with back protector) is included for a very reasonable price!

I think the Dallas is an excellent value for a summer jacket. The armor is included for the shoulder, elbows, AND back. All the armor is very soft energy absorbing type and is rated CE level 2, which is impressive in a lighter weight jacket for summer. The armor material feels much like D3O except perhaps one notch softer/less dense.

Like many Olympia jackets, the overall cut here is “American” for sure. Those with large frames and those who don’t like snug fitting jackets will like this style. Olympia is one of the few brands available with a cut like this. If you use the chart for chest and belly above, you might find yourself in one size smaller than you normally wear, but that is just the way these jackets are cut… big!

Mesh summer jackets like this are typically a pretty simple design, but this jacket, even though it is bargain priced, has a healthy list of nice features… such as the armor package (already mentioned), nighttime visibility, arm, and waist adjusters and four storage pockets. This jacket has a short rear zip to attach to Olympia pants, or there is also a simple snap-close loop to connect to a jean belt. :: Paul, 06-21-19
