Sizing Information
At the time of this writing, we have only received a size 38×32 pant to measure. We have others on order, but they are not available at this time. On the pair we have, the waist is measuring about 2” small and the inseam is about 1” short.
Hmmm… well, we’ll report more later when more samples come in, but from what I can see, they are running about 1 1/2 size smaller than stated.
Our Two Cents
The Alloy jean is AGV Sport’s “fashion” entry of armored jeans into their lineup for 2014. The fit and styling is a bit more tapered in the legs, they are button fly and are distressed. The cotton is very soft, but the jeans are backed in the seat, hips and knees. We’ve taken some shots with the pants turned inside out so you can see the reinforcement. It is the yellow fabric behind the black mesh liner. The liner serves to keep the more abrasive material off your skin, so that makes the jeans comfortable to wear. The jeans have removable knee armor which is situated in some pockets sewn into that same black mesh liner. The armor is adjustable up or down just a bit with some Velcro pieces integrated into the pocket. There are a couple fabric pockets for hip armor (I’m guessing), but AGV Sport hasn’t mentioned this in their literature. It may be an unintended add-on, but I don’t think hip armor would look very good or feel very good in a jean-type pant, especially one that is cut trim like this one. Oh well. If this is a look that appeals to you, then go for it, but check our sizing advice because as of this writing, the pants are sized small. :: Paul, 05-16-14
