Our Two Cents
The Overlander Adventure Gloves from Tourmaster are what I would consider a mid cuff, adventure/touring glove that is primarily focused on being comfortable, and having good dexterity while offering a good amount of protection for the price range. Overall construction is a combination of thin .75mm AX® Suede Connect palm material and overlays for ultimate feel and feedback (all AX® Suede sections are touchscreen compatible), as well as 4-way ultra-stretch fabric on top of the hand for strength, comfort and flexibility. Additionally the gloves feature stretch breathable Lycra fourchettes and finger gussets for increased dexterity and airflow. Main entry is of neoprene construction creating a comfort cuff and the main closure is a TPR, hook and loop setup (the closure itself is a bit too rubbery feeling and a bit large for my personal tastes so be aware). Overall the gloves are quite comfortable and feel good on the hands but have a bit more of a retro design/build when compared to some of Tourmaster’s more modern gloves (for example the Switchback ADV).
From a protection standpoint the AX® Suede provides abrasion resistance while the TPR knuckle and finger protectors provide impact protection. Overall these gloves are not CE rated, my assumption is that it is not that they wouldn’t pass, but rather with Tourmaster being primarily sold in the USA, they didn’t bother with having the gloves certified. As a whole for $29.99 (at the time of this review) protection is there for the money, but I do wan’t to point out that there are no hard sliders or padding in the palm and wrist areas (may be enough for off road use but I would like some palm/wrist protection for on road use).
From a size perspective I typically wear a size Large in most European brands, but in this glove I tried on a size XL and it was almost perfect but not quite. I may be half way between a L and a XL here. My advice would be to use the size chart but if you are halfway between sizes I would say size the half size up. Overall another budget friendly glove from Tourmaster. If looking at this glove I would also check out Tourmaster’s Switchback ADV glove as well. :: Damir 12/6/24.
