Sizing Information

We find that gloves from REV’IT! are generally very consistent in fit from one model to the next, and we find they run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands. The fit is very similar to Alpinestars which also fit more snugly than other brands of gloves. The tendency to run small is not so noticeable that we’d advise you to buy one size larger, but if you are sometimes in between sizes, your best shot would be to choose larger. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

FWIW, with this new Dirt 3 glove, I find the fit to be just a bit more “wide” across the knuckles and a bit more roomy in the fingers than many other REVIT gloves. So if you have more meaty hands and you’ve been comparing these to other REVIT gloves, these might be the ones.

Our Two Cents

This new Dirt 3 glove from REVIT is an update to the Dirt 2 glove which we first reviewed in the spring of 2014. In comparing the new version 3 to the 2, the changes are mostly with the styling of the knuckle protector, and there are also a few other slight cosmetic changes. This new Dirt 3 glove has a matte black knuckle protector which has a rubberized coating.

Price wise, this Dirt 3 compares to the Sand 3 glove and both are sold as street or adventure summer gloves. The biggest difference is with the styling of the back of the hand. The Dirt 3 has a more traditional and sport styled knuckle protector where the sand has the “3D” rubberized look. The Sand 3 will probably flow more air in the knuckle area where the dirt might be a little more secure in case of impact (just a guess on my part though). Mostly it’s just a styling thing.

You can see the mesh parts on the back of the hand of this glove and those areas will flow air freely, so, like the Sand, this will be a summer use glove. Overall it is lightweight and very comfortable to wear. The molded knuckle here is lighter than the rubberized protector on the Sand 3. The heel of the hand also has a protector to beef up the impact protection. The tips of the forefinger and the thumb will operate your phone or other electronics without having to take your gloves off.

The Dirt 3 is a very nice “all purpose” summer riding gloves that could work for a variety of riding styles. :: Paul, 02-04-19

REVIT says: The Dirt 3 gloves meet the demands of many serious touring and adventure riders across the globe, offering an optimal balance between protection and ventilation. Your hands will be well-armored thanks to the TPR knuckle, TPR palm slider, and TPR finger knuckles. The incorporated Connect Finger Tip allows for the operation of touchscreen devices without removing the glove, making this adventure-ready package complete.

Overall, good summer gloves. My iPhone touchscreen functionality did not work well to the point that I was ready to exchange them. Both motorcyclegear. (Read more...)
