Icon Contra 2 Glove

The gloves fit true to size and have an “American” fit. They are consistent with the major US brands we carried—Joe Rocket, Tourmaster, Olympia, etc. For comparison, you’ll find an American fit glove like this to be just a bit more roomy than some European brands such as Alpinestars and REV’IT! that typically run about a half size smaller.

The Icon Contra 2 glove is new for 2020. It is a short cuff glove made with leather and synthetic leather. It features substantial knuckle protection.

Icon is using a lot of their Ax Suede material which is a man-made material that looks and feels a lot like leather but is promoted as being more durable and abrasion resistant than leather. This glove has Ax Suede palms. The back of the hand is mostly leather with other fabric materials too. The palms are unlined so you’ll have almost direct contact with the controls.

The knuckle protection is in two pieces and is quite large. Those protectors stick up over your knuckles quite a bit and give a futuristic look (IMHO). They are very comfortable to wear, so no problems there. The gloves secure to the hand with a Velcro strap at the wrist. Frankly, I’m a little disappointed there isn’t a slider or some other padding incorporated into the palm of the hand. A glove with sport styling like this one really ought to have something. But the thing that will sell this glove is the knuckle armor styling. It really is something. And have a look at the color choices… they are sharp. :: Paul, 05-15-20
