Sizing Information

These gloves are consistent with the major American based brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, Joe Rocket, etc, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help. With the stretch panels built into the glove on the side of the hand and thumb, the gloves feel very comfortable and it is likely the leather will stretch some. If you are sometimes between sizes, I’d advise to try the smaller.

Our Two Cents

The Icon 1000 Axys glove is the simpler cousin of the Icon 1000 Retrograde glove. It’s a lot like that glove, but with fewer bells and whistles. I happen to like this style very much. It has the D3O armor embedded over the knuckles for some impact protection and the chassis of the glove is sturdy cowhide. The palm side is in “natural” color and reminds me of the leather gloves commonly sold in farm and ranch stores for work gloves. It is very thick, but supple and with use, molds to your hand and fingers very well and will feel like you’ve been wearing them for years.

Another advantage of the simplicity here is that these gloves will fold or roll up into a small space which will make them more convenient to store in a small cubby on the bike, in your jacket pocket, or even just stuffed into your hip pocket.

As far as a comfort range, I’d say anywhere from cool to warm… maybe even hot. The gloves have some perforated leather on the back of the hand to let in some air. You’ll find that the gloves are lined on the back side of the black leather which is nice to keep the black dye off, and the back sides of the natural color leather are left unlined which is nice for “feel” of the controls. Overall, I think these gloves are very nice for the money and a perfect find for the cruiser/retro rider wanting a simple, but high quality glove. :: Paul, 10-12-16
