Our Two Cents

The Sonic-Flo Plus Gloves from Cortech are a short cuff sport style glove that does a solid job of balancing style, safety and price. With overall construction primarily coming from a combination of goat leather, carbon fiber, air mesh and Lycra, there is a good balance of solid materials being used. And from a style standpoint I think the gloves look good, especially in the white on black color way that has a nice contrast with the carbon fiber knuckle protectors, speaking of color ways there are 4 colors to chose from. Overall the Sonic-Flo gloves fit the bill when it comes to fitting the sport riding look, and are some of the lightest gloves I have ever worn that offer knuckle protection. Honestly outside of the wrist seam area where the stretchy cuff material meets the rest of the glove, (maybe its just me but it rubbed my wrist the wrong way and caused some discomfort and irritation) the Sonic-Flo gloves feel extremely comfortable and fit my hands perfectly. I normally wear a size large across most brands and from time to time have to deal with a small amount of extra room or in some cases a more snug fit, but with these gloves they fit like they were created specifically for my hands, and unlike some of the more expensive Italian gloves out there, all of the fingers were the right length for me (sometimes with other gloves there will randomly be a finger that is too long). So again for the price point, the comfort, fit, style and protection level are really hard to beat.

Some other specs to know is that the knuckle protector and palm sliders are carbon fiber, there are AX® Suede Connect .75mm palm overlays which are more durable than similar thicknesses of leather (found in palm and pinky protection area) and that there are accordion stretch panels on the three big fingers and a rather large accordion stretch panel at the thumb. You also get TPR protectors on the fingers, stretchy Lycra fourchettes for additional comfort as well as air mesh along the fingers and backhand for added ventilation and warm weather comfort.

Additionally the Sonic-Flo Plus gloves from Cortech are touch screen compatible and worked well with both Android and iPhone devices.

Again, I say a lot to like for the price point. My only real complaint here is that like many other USA based brands (only motorcycle products sold in European markets are required to do CE testing) , Cortech doesn’t list if these gloves are CE rated or not, typically the CE rating is a “bragging” point if you will, so when a company doesn’t list it, it typically means the product isn’t CE rated. Now this could mean that the product, in this case these gloves, isn’t able to pass a CE certification, or it could simply mean that the manufacturer never had it tested. For a protection first rider like myself, that is a drawback. :: Damir 5/16/24
