Cortech Sonic Flo Plus

The Sonic Flow Plus Waterproof gloves from Cortech are a pair of short cuff, sports style gloves that feature a waterproof layer. Overall construction is a combination of genuine goat leather on the palm and backhand, AX® Suede Connect .75mm palm overlays that are more durable than similar thicknesses of leather, Air Mesh along the fingers and backhand for ventilation, and an Aqua-Barrier® waterproof, breathable membrane on the inside to keep your hands dry and comfortable.

Looking at comfort and convenience, the Sonic Flo Plus gloves feature touchscreen compatible thumb and index finger (which in our testing performed well with both Android and iPhone devices), stretch accordion paneling on the fingers, back of hand and thumb, as well as stretch Lycra fourchettes for added comfort and dexterity.

Moving on to protection, included are a carbon fiber knuckle protector, TPR protectors on the fingers with built in ventilation, pinky finger overlays for added abrasion resistance as well as goat leather and carbon fiber palm sliders to further enhance crash protection. These gloves are not CE certified, but I am fairly confident that that is because Cortech didn’t submit them for certification, keep in mind that CE is a European requirement and Cortech is mostly sold in the states, rather than because the glove couldn’t pass the test. Based off materials and quality or build/features I would assume that it would pass as a 1KP glove.

Three colors are available, black/black, black/grey and black red, in sizes from small to 3XL. Speaking of sizes, I normally wear a size large in most gloves, and the same is the case here with a large fitting me as I would expect, so my advice would be to get your usual size. Overall at the time of this review the Sonic Flo Plus WP gloves retail for $54.99 and I would say that that is more than fair as the gloves feel well built, are comfortable and overall feature some good materials and features. If you are a sport style rider that is looking for a short glove, but do need some added warmth and waterproofing, these gloves are definitely worth a look. Cortech has had some really good gloves, especially for the price lately, these add to that list. :: Damir 12/13/24
