Plenty of sublimated graphics and thermal-bonded rubber bits for style, but little if any padding or real leather for protection when you need it. Our Baja glove bucks this trend by melding retro dirt bike styling with impact protection and goatskin reinforcement in friction zones to meet Europe’s CE standard for recreational motorcycle operation.

These gloves are consistent with other brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, etc. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
Our Two Cents
The Biltwell Baja gloves are a retro inspired glove with modern materials.
The desing of the Biltwell Baja gloves is modeled after ‘80s motocross gloves but they have more reinforcement and protection. The palms are reinforced with goatskin leather that has a diamond pattern pressed in. Under that reinforcement and down the fingers is synthetic suede which gives you great dexterity and feel for the controls. The thumb, index, and middle fingers all have touchscreen material that works great on both iPhone and Android devices here at the shop.
On the back of the hand you have wide weave mesh on the index and middle fingers and a tighter stretch polyester weave on the remainder. The fourcettes are Lycra that stretches for movement and keeps the fingers tight. A TPR lightning bolt overlay provides some impact protection and there is also a neoprene knuckle guard inside the backhand. I’ve never seen neoprene used for protection but it feels like a foam pad would so I guess it would perform about the same. The the cuff is a neoprene like material with a hook and loop closure.
The Biltwell Baja gloves are a good option for the retro crowd or the cruiser rider that wants a unique look. These gloves offer more protection than they first appear to, but most riders will still want a little more protection in the knuckle. :: Mike, 11/04/2022
