Our Two Cents
The Cortech Adrenaline GP Gloves are the top of the line track glove in the Cortech Speedway collection.
These gloves are designed for aggressive sport riding and track days. The knuckle is a hard material that feels like it is a thermoplastic rubber compound. There are 3 small intake vents on the front of the knuckle to pull air into the mesh panel that is on the backhand of the glove below the knuckle armor. Behind the knuckle, as you move towards the cuff there is perforated leather and a rubberized protector with the Cortech logo. Down the fingers, there are additional armor pieces and Superfabric® overlays. Superfabric® is a great material for areas where you might be in contact with the ground in a slide because it works similarly to a slider or knee puck, it wears down over distance by design but allows you to slide over the surface instead of grabbing any coarse material and causing you to roll. Cortech has put Superfabric® all over this glove, on the fingers near the tip (hopefully you don’t slide on these but who knows), on the outer pinky, and on the medial side of the cuff closure. It’s nice to have all this Superfabric®, but most of it is for looks I think. The medial side of the cuff would be difficult to slide on while the outer, lateral side of the cuff would be more likely. It has a large vented TPR protector so it is also armored, but not necessarily for a slide. The palms also use KNOX’s SPS for palm sliders. These protectors have small vent holes to allow some airflow and should hold upon impact, protecting your Scaphoid (wrist bone) as they are designed to do.
The palm of this glove is a supple goat leather with overlays in the palm, index, and middle finger that have a textured finish so you get a good grip. Since these are race style gloves, they do not have touchscreen materials but oddly enough the thumb seems to work well on Apple and Android devices here at the shop. The index fingers do not work, due to the textured overlays mentioned above.
These gloves are very comfortable, which is what you want in a performance glove so you can stay focused. The palm to finger stitching is on the outside of the glove so you don’t have any areas of discomfort from the seams. There is a hook and loop closure at the wrist for a secure fit and a double hook and loop closure (one from the medial and one from the lateral over the top) at the cuff so you can adjust the gauntlet around your jacket/suit sleeves.
These gloves are designed for warm to cool aggressive riding. They flow some air, but not as much as a mesh glove. A great track day glove option that won’t break the bank! :: Mike, 1/11/2022
