Our Two Cents
The Tour-Tex 2.0 Waterproof gloves from Tourmaster are a full length, gauntlet, multi season glove. These gloves are a full length gauntlet glove, with that said, the parts around your wrist are soft, rather than a hard protector, but they are still padded and offer protection. Overall construction is a combination of twill and 4-way stretch spandex at the top of the hand, both are DWR coated, genuine napa goat leather on the palm as well as additional overlays, as well as reflective print that is in the logo for added visibility. One the inside you do get an Aqua-barrier® membrane that is both waterproof and breathable.
Moving on to comfort and convenience, AX® Connect touchscreen-compatible index finger and thumb are included (in our testing they worked just ok with both Android and iPhone devices, most waterproof and winter like gloves work, but just ok when it comes to responsiveness), as are Lycra stretch fourchettes for added comfort. The main closure is dual hook and loop that allows for a good amount of adjustability and there is some elastic on the wrist for added comfort.
Moving on to protection, 3D molded knuckle protectors with 1000D ballistic nylon overlays are included, as well as high density, impact absorbing, foam finger and knuckle protectors. Overall a solid amount of protection, I don’t like however that there is no padding or hard sliders in the palms. Also keep in mind, these gloves are not CE certified, but I am fairly confident that that is because Tourmaster didn’t submit them for certification, keep in mind that CE is a European requirement and Tourmaster is mostly sold in the states, rather than because the glove couldn’t pass the test. Based off materials and quality or build/features I would assume that it would pass as a 1KP glove.
The Tour-Tex 2.0 Waterproof gloves are available in black or grey/light grey and come in sizes from small to 3XL. Speaking of sizes, I normally wear a size large in most gloves, and the same is the case here with a large fitting me as I would expect, so my advice would be to get your usual size. Overall I think this is a comfortable, well fitting glove that has some good features and materials, especially when considering the price point (at the time of this review $39.99). With that said, I personally am not a fan of not having palm protection, whether a hard slider or a foam pad, and for that reason I would personally spend the extra $20 to get the Tourmaster Super-Tour Waterproof Adventure gloves as they not only have padding and Superfabric™ on the palms, but they also feature Superfabric™in other areas as well. Again overall a solid glove for the money in Tourmaster’s line up, I just personally would get the improved protection and materials for not much more by going with the Super-Tour gloves. :: Damir 12/13/24
