REV'IT! Lacus GTX Gloves
As any experienced, long-distance adventure rider will know, your hands take the brunt of what the elements choose to throw at you. With the Lacus GTX, you don’t need to worry about the weather – not even about sudden downpours or what serious storms may bring to the fore – the GORE-TEX membrane will keep your hands and wrists dry by waterproofing both natural and synthetic textiles used in the construction of these gloves.
Materials that make the difference The main material of soft, drum-dyed goatskin on the palm and at the back of the hand combines strength and flexibility with all-weather wearability – the leather’s water-repellent coating making the Lacus GTX a great go-anywhere waterproof glove. Plus, the fine-grained strength of Pittards® sheepskin leather on the contact points of the palms and thumbs guarantees grip when it matters the most.
Handy for adventures When you’re on an adventure, your hands are the tool you’ll use most, and the Lacus GTX provide protection for these vital extremities in the form of a mix of hard-shell and memory foam that envelops the hands and wrists. Should you meet the asphalt, a TPU hard-shell palm slider significantly reduces risk of injury, while Temperfoam® along the fingers, palms, and thumbs defends your hands without hindering movement. Plus, there’s thumb protection – always an adventure rider thumbs up.

Sizing Information
We find REVIT gloves run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands. The fit is very similar to Alpinestars which also fit more snugly than other brands of gloves. The tendency to run small is not so noticeable that we’d advise you to buy one size larger, but if you are sometimes in between sizes, your best shot would be to choose larger. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
Our Two Cents
The Lacus GTX riding gloves from REV’IT! Are a full length, long-distance, adventure glove that is waterproof and protective. Overall construction is a combination of goatskin drum dyed leather with a WR finish, PU (polyurethane) coated fabric, PWR Shell Stretch, suede leather with WR finish, laminated reflection materials at both the finger and finger logo, and a push-pull trip-fleece liner for comfort as well as a GORE-TEX layer that features Gore grip technology to make the gloves waterproof. Other notable features include a suede leather visor wiper, a pull tab, adjustment at the wrist in the form of a strap, adjustment with a tab at the cuff, stretch and the fingers as well as stretch lips on the main three fingers. The Lacus GTX gloves also feature conductive finger tips at both the thumb and index fingers, but in our testing, they performed just ok with both Android and iPhone.
From a protection standpoint, the Lacus GTX gloves from REV’IT! Feature a good amount of protection in the form of a hard shell knuckle, a Temperfoam® palm slider and thumb knuckle, a Temperfoam® underneath knuckle protector, a TPU hard shell palm slider and thumb protectors, and they come in with a CE Level 1 KP rating.
Like most GORE-TEX and waterproof gloves the Lacus GTX does lose some dexterity and feel when compared to its more sporty, warm/dry weather counterparts and does make your hands/fingers feel a tad clunky (again this is expected with a waterproof, multi-layer glove), but with that being said, they are a solid pair of gloves with lot’s of features for the money. Overall I think these gloves are worth looking at in the price range, but I don’t think they offer anything too different to separate themselves from the sea of other Waterproof adventure gloves that both REV’IT! And its competitors offer. Not saying that they are not a good glove, just saying that they are fairly typical for the style and price point. :: Damir 6/19/24
