Sizing Information
We find REV’IT! gloves to run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands… much like Alpinestars. This glove is not so snug that I’d recommend you buy one size larger than normal, but certainly if you are between sizes, then choosing the larger of the two should work. Hopefully, you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help
Our Two Cents
REVIT Crater 2 WSP Gloves are new for 2020! The design is based upon the original Crater glove from 2018. This is a lightweight windproof glove for cooler months of the year. These gloves are lighter and more comfortable than waterproof gloves. They are made with a wind-proofing material by GoreTex.
The back of the hand of this glove is Gore Windstopper material. This material stops the wind (you probably figured that out) and is water-resistant. It isn’t a waterproof glove, however. This glove will be for those that occasionally ride in wet or misty weather. I can picture this glove being great for fall and spring in the Northwest US or along the northwestern coast where it is often foggy and cool.
This glove has a similar feature list with the Hydra 2 H2O, but where the Hydra 2 is waterproof with a light layer of insulation (for colder and/or rainy weather). It all depends on your climate as to which one will suit you better. The glove is textile material on the back of the hand and leather on the palm side. The molded knuckle protector is very substantial, but well-shaped and padded on the underside so they feel good on the hand. The palm gets some light padding in the heel area. Goat leather is used in the palm. Both gloves have a soft “wiper” type material alongside the index finger you can use to wipe off your visor.
The cuff is a tight knit cuff made to go UNDER your jacket sleeve. These work great with most city or street jackets, but they don’t work so great with race jacket sleeves that zip down close to your wrist. But other than that type of jacket, these should work fine. The knit cuff will also keep out the wind. The gloves have a Velcro strap at the wrist to keep the gloves in place in case of a fall. The goat leather on the pair I tried on was SO soft and flexible… they are very comfortable! :: Paul, 02-21-20
REVIT says: The Crater 2 WSP builds on the reputation of its predecessor as a perfect glove for urban riding in wintertime, covering the needs for comfort and protection. The palm is created with abrasion-resistant drum dyed goatskin combined with PWR|shell stretch on the upper hand. Equipped with GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® product technology and polar fleece to keep the cold at bay, these short-cuffed gloves sport a heavy rib covered hard-shell knuckle, a Temperfoam® palm slider and added PWR|shield knit at the palm to offer the right amount of protection.
