Sizing Information
We find REV’IT! gloves to run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands… much like Alpinestars. This glove is not so snug that I’d recommend you buy one size larger than normal, but certainly if you are between sizes, then choosing the larger of the two should work. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help
Our Two Cents
The Chevak GTX gloves are a lighter weight, less feature laden winter glove with a simple style. I think these gloves will be great for those who dress for the street rather than the bike. The Chevak have features found on other gauntlet gloves by REVIT such as the integral Gore Tex liner and a hidden molded knuckle protector, but the overall styling is much like a everyday winter glove.
The palm side is black leather and the back of the hand is a smooth textile material. Reflective patches are worked into the design, but they are subtle. Nevertheless, you’ll be better seen at night.
There is a bit of energy absorbing foam in the heel of the hand and there is soft sueded material on the side of each finger designed for wiping your shield. Like other gauntlet winter gloves, this one has a Velcro adjuster so you can work the gauntlet over or under your jacket sleeve (depending on your jacket design). At the wrist is REVIT’s special closure buckle to secure the glove on your wrist. The buckle can be manipulated even with one gloved hand.
The overall level of insulation is moderate so I’m thinking fall and spring and if you are warm blooded, perhaps even cold winter weather. The inside of the gloves are lined with a comfy short pile fleece. There aren’t many GoreTex gloves that come in at $120 so given the quality materials here, I think these are a very good value. :: Paul, 10-12-18
REVIT says: The Chevak GTX gloves are much more than just a waterproof pair of hand protection. They match effortlessly with almost every jacket in our collection; from an urban overcoat to a technical touring jacket. The beauty of its diversity lies in timeless and minimalist design. Clean lines and acute attention to detail equate to a pair of road-ready gloves. Not to mention its safety components that make them as potent as they are. PWR|shell is used in various areas, along with leather. Reflection is also included in subtle ways for visibility. Aside from GORE-TEX® technology – to keep your hands dry – the Connect Finger Tip allows you to keep your gloves on when operating touchscreens.
