Sizing Information
These gloves are consistent with the major American based brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, Joe Rocket etc, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
Just as an FYI, you may have previous experience with European designed brands such as Alpinestars and REV’IT! which run about one half size smaller, size-for-size, than the American brands. It is not a universally true fact, but generally holds for most styles. So if a particular size in either of those brands is roomy on you, then you may be able to go down one full size in this style.
Our Two Cents
For 2018 Scorpion has come out with three new gloves in basic black leather… the half cut, short cut and full cut. Kind of sounds like buying beef doesn’t it? We carry all three styles of three separate product pages. Take the links below to view the other versions. Here’s the rundown:
All three styles are made of good feeling, relatively thin cut black cowhide. The gloves are pretty basic and unlined, but feel like good quality.
Half Cut: Fingerless design. Likes: little pull tabs on the ends of the cut off fingers to help you pull them out without yanking them inside out; pretty nice padding in the palm and the heel of the hand; at the cuff, there is a button so you can stick the two gloves together so maybe you won’t accidentally lose one.
Short Cut: Short cuff with full fingers. Likes: fabric is used between the fingers which makes the fit very comfortable; the thin leather feel great; an extra overlay of leather where the throttle will wear on he glove.
Full Cut: Longer cuff with full fingers. Likes: fabric is used between the fingers which makes the fit very comfortable; the thin leather feel great; an extra overlay of leather where the throttle will wear on he glove; the longer cuff will keep the sun off your wrists. Dislike: There is no strap to hold the gloves on your hand in case of impact.
All three styles are very competitively priced and seem to be better quality that the cheap junk you often find over the counter. I’d say you can buy these with confidence. :: Paul, 10-10-18
