Sizing Information

Several of us in the office tried these boots on for comparison to Spidi’s size chart (listed below) and also to compare to the fit of other boots. We recommend you use the size chart below to choose a European size based upon your US street shoe size. Spidi’s size chart is comparable to many other brands. Compared to some brands, the Spidi chart converts to a slightly smaller US size for a given Euro size, so you may find yourself choosing one Euro size larger than with other boots..

As to width, we find these boots are quite normal, I’d say D width, or “medium”.

Our Two Cents

The Spidi X-Road H2Out Riding Shoes are a short cut boot with laces for street sport riding. The boots are fitted with a waterproof liner to keep water out.

Overall, I like this style. It is a lightweight choice that should break in to be very comfortable. The overall design is similar to MANY other styles by Alpinestars, Sidi, etc. For the quality level, the boots seem very reasonably priced.

Some key features here are the recessed lace loops and the Velcro strap to go over the shoe laces at the top. All that is designed to lessen the chances of getting loose laces caught in machinery parts. You’d be surprised how many boots skip adding these features, so it’s nice to see here. The heel and toe areas are reinforced internally and there are round armor inserts built into the boot on either side of the ankle bone. The sole is a thin design preferred by sport bike riders with small shifter mechanisms. The sole stiffness is average.

The boots do include a waterproof liner, but be advised a short boot like this will take on water over the top of the boot easily, so the effectiveness of waterproofing is questionable for riding in rain. But anyway, it’s there, so if you find yourself walking through shallow standing water for example, the liner should keep it out of the foot area. Having a waterproof liner means there is no direct venting here, so consider these boots for mild to colder weather use. :: Paul, 04-28-20
