Arai Cheek Pads for Vector 2 Helmets (15 Or 25mm Only)
- Riders will sometimes need to change the cheek pads that come installed in their helmets. Some people need a little more or less space, while others simply need to install a fresh set of pads for better comfort (and smell).
- The pads both come out and can be installed quite easily.
- Use the chart below to figure out what size cheek pad you currently have based on your helmet size, and then pick a replacement set based on your need.
Sizing Information
Use this table to determine what cheek pad size you currently have. Please note that Vector 2 helmets manufactured in January 2014 and later have different size cheek pads than those manufactured prior to that.
Helmet Size | 01/14 Mfg Date & Future Cheek Pad Size | 12/13 Mfg Date & Prior Cheek Pad Size |
---|---|---|
XS | 30mm | 25mm |
Small | 30mm | 25mm |
Medium | 30mm | 25mm |
Large | 25mm | 20mm |
XL | 25mm | 20mm |
XXL | 25mm | 20mm |
You can buy the same thickness of cheek pad if you like the fit of your helmet and just need a replacement set. Or you can buy a different thickness cheek pad to adjust fit as all the cheek pads are interchangeable between the different helmet sizes. In addition to the cheek pad thicknesses listed above, there are three optional thicknesses: 15mm, 20mm and 35mm.
Changing cheek pads to change the helmet fit: To get MORE room in your helmet, you need to buy a SMALLER cheek pad. To get a TIGHTER fit, you need to buy a LARGER cheek pad. Example: If you have a size Large Vector 2 helmet that was manufactured in January 2014 or later, you have cheek pads that measure 25mm. If the helmet is too tight on you, a 15 or 20mm pad would give you more room. Before you buy a set of replacement cheek pads, keep in mind that the pads that came with your helmet have a “micro-fit” feature that allows you to peel away a 5mm thickness of foam, which may be all you need to make those pads more comfortable.
