Sizing Information
We checked the sizing of this style with our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. They are wearing size Medium and XL jackets respectively. These are their “usual” sizes and they work just fine. We also checked the chest and belly of the other sizes and find them to fit OK too. Therefore, we recommend you choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. if you are between sizes, choosing down is probably the best move.
The overall fit of this jacket is similar to other US brands, which is to say, roomy through the torso with a relaxed fit. The overall height and sleeve length I’d say is “average” and is very similar to Tour Master products. If you are slim and tall, you may not fit a good fit here, but average or stout built people will probably be happy with the overall cut. A longer jacket like this is typically cut “boxy” but they have large side torso adjusters so even if you are slim through the belly you can get a good fit.
You can also choose a size by measuring your chest and belly and using the chart (below) which lists max chest and max belly sizes for each jacket size. The measurements in the chart are a combination of the manufacturer’s size chart and also the measurements we take on the product samples. After you measure, you can choose a jacket size using the chart. You’ll want to choose a size that will accommodate both your chest and belly.
Alpha Size | Max Chest Size | Max Belly |
---|---|---|
XS | 37 | 36 |
Small | 40 | 39 |
Medium | 43 | 42 |
Large | 45 | 44 |
XL | 48 | 47 |
XXL | 51 | 50 |
XXXL | 53 | 52 |
Our Two Cents
New for Fall 2021 is the Noru Bosui 3/4 Waterproof Jacket.
This jacket doesn’t have much venting so it is best for mild to cold weather. There are two chest vents and a rear exhaust vent but they only vent to the fixed in place waterproof liner so while they’re better than nothing don’t expect them to keep you cool on a hot day. There is also a removable thermal liner. One kind of odd call out here, there are handwarmer pockets below the lower pockets on the front but they do not have any closure so I wouldn’t suggest putting anything other than your hands in there because it will fall right out! The handwarmer pockets are fleece lined so they’ll feel nice when you are using them off the bike. There is a small fanny pouch on the back to store gloves or what have you in as well, but it is fairly shallow. Combined with the 4 front storage pockets (which have a nice fold-over flap for waterproofing) you can carry a lot of do-hickeys in this jacket.
This jacket has a ton of adjustability. There are waist, arm, and torso adjustments. The cuffs close with a hook and loop that is adjustable as well. There is also some good reflectivity on the chest, arms, and back of the jacket. Another call out here, the main zip is NOT two way like most 3/4 length jackets use so be aware!
Overall this is a good 3/4 length jacket that will keep you warm in cool to cold weather and at this price, it is tough to beat! :: Mike 11-1-21
