Sizing Information
These armor pieces will fit the armor pockets of most jackets and suits; they’re a fairly standard shape and size. They can also be trimmed a bit if necessary.
There are two ways to measure these armor pieces, and we’ve done both. One way is to measure the overall length and width with a ruler and with the armor in its natural pre-curved shape. The other way to measure is to use a soft tape and measure from tip to tip over the natural curve of the armor.
Overall length and width measured with a ruler:
Armor | Widest point (near top) | Narrowest point (near bottom) | Length |
---|---|---|---|
Elbow | 5 1/8 inches | 2 3/4 inches | 8 7/8 inches |
Knee | 5 3/4 inches | 2 3/4 inches | 8 7/8 inches |
Shoulder | 5 1/2 inches | 3 1/4 inches | 7 1/2 inches |
Measured over the curve with a soft tape:
Armor | Widest point (near top) | Narrowest point (near bottom) | Length |
---|---|---|---|
Elbow | 6 1/2 inches | 3 1/2 inches | 9 1/2 inches |
Knee | 7 1/2 inches | 3 3/4 inches | 10 1/4 inches |
Shoulder | 7 inches | 4 inches | 8 1/2 inches |
The level 1 thickness of any of the knee/elbow/shoulder pieces is approx. 3/8” and the level 2 pieces are approx. 9/16” thick. So the level 2 pieces are about 50% thicker.
