The Flare 2 Jacket by REVIT is another new street jacket for the 2020 lineup. This jacket has distinctive sport/camo styling. It's a waterproof textile style available in both men's and women's sizes and colors, although the Camo Black/Grey color can be bought in either men's or women's so there is one color choice for couples who want to match.

The Flare 2 jacket functionally is very similar to the Afterburn H2O jacket, also new for 2020. This jacket is a bit more "heavy duty" though and will withstand a bit more rugged use. For example, the shell material used in this jacket is thicker feeling and more stiff and tough feeling and is comparable to other well armored sport textile jacket and the Afterburn has a softer and more flexible feel. Where the Afterburn looks more dressy, this jacket, with the camo print offers a bit of an off road or outdoorsman look.

The shell is equipped with an integral waterproof liner so you can use it with confidence in the rain. The main zipper is backed by another overlapping zippered closure to keep water out. I'd recommend this jacket for colder to mild weather. It had a vest-type removable thermal liner you can use in the cold, and it also has a couple zip vents on the sleeve ends along with a vent situated in the back for exhaust. With the main zipper open some, and with the sleeve zips open, you could flow some decent air to get you through spring and fall, but it won't be comfortable in really hot temps I'm afraid.

The jacket includes a removable hood, which is detachable. The hood isn't the type you wear under a helmet, but with the hood, the jacket can be a fully functional jacket on the street as well as on the bike. And besides, some people like the look of a hood even if they aren't using it.

This jacket comes with Knox CE2 armor. The pre-curved cut of the arms accommodates the thicker armor very well. The jacket has a pocket in the liner for the addition of a back protector which you can purchase with the link below.

You have the option to connect the jacket to REVIT motorcycle pants with the short rear zipper in the back/inside of the jacket liner. The short zipper can also work with REVIT’s Safeway belt which you can use when wearing the jacket with jeans.

We tried a size Medium and an XL on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. Those are sizes they usually wear in an “American” cut jacket. This jacket from REV’IT! fits well enough and it looks sharp, but there is very minimal room left. Many brands from Europe exhibit a fit like this, such as Alpinestars. If you look at REV’IT!’s published size chart (below), you’ll see their estimate of chest size is at least a full size smaller than what you’d find in equivalent US designed clothing.

We measured each jacket and tried them on and we’ve concluded that the fit is just about one-half size smaller than what you would find in ordinary US men’s clothing. The amount the jackets are undersized is not as severe as REV’IT!’s size chart would have you believe. For most people, this means you’ll be able to buy the size you normally wear if you want a snug, European style fit. If you want a looser American fit, or if you are between sizes, choose one size larger.

Below is the REV’IT!-published chest size for each jacket’s alpha size along with our estimate of max chest and max waist/belly. This particular style has a bit of a “sport” profile to the arms, but overall, I’d describe the fit as “casual”.
